Compare email trackers for Gmail
You already sent the proposal. The question is when to follow up — not which CRM to buy. Most “email tracker” pages sell suites. This page compares three products people actually open when they search for Gmail tracking: SentCue Email Tracking, Mailtrack by Mailsuite, and Streak.
Disclosure: SentCue makes one of the three. Competitor rows use only what their public sites and listings said when we checked them (Mailtrack on 13 September 2026; Streak from their product and pricing pages through early October 2026). We do not invent prices, quotas, or ratings. Plans change — verify on their pages before you switch.
In SentCue, a blue circle means an activity signal was detected. It does not guarantee that the recipient read the message.
Quick pick
- One important thread, cue in Sent, no account: SentCue.
- Cloud history, campaigns, mobile apps, OK with a promotional signature on Free: Mailtrack.
- Pipelines and CRM work inside Gmail, tracking as part of that: Streak.
Side by side
| SentCue Email Tracking | Mailtrack by Mailsuite | Streak | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Job it is built for | One-thread follow-ups after Send | Tracking suite: campaigns, merge, link activity | CRM pipelines inside Gmail; tracking is part of the package |
| Account / Gmail OAuth | No SentCue account; no Gmail OAuth in this version | Sign-up; Workspace listing requests Gmail access | Account; CRM integration uses Google scopes (see their site) |
| Where history lives | This Chrome install (local; capped) | Cloud history; depth depends on their plan | In Streak’s product (cloud / CRM context) |
| Promotional signature on Free | No product line in the message | Free plan lists a promotional signature | No (per their public free positioning) |
| Per-message tracking toggle | Yes — beside Send | Yes (suite tracking controls) | Yes within their Gmail workflow |
| Link tracking / mail merge / campaigns | Not in this version | Advertised on their homepage | Mail merge and CRM outreach; link tracking on Free per their pricing page |
| Mobile / other clients | Gmail on the web in Chrome only | Free plan lists iOS and Android | Mobile apps and Workspace via their CRM stack |
| Who opened a group email | Not attributed per recipient | Group attribution is a paid / suite claim on their site | Total views style signals; not a clean “who” answer |
| Best when | You want a cue on this computer without handing Gmail to a vendor | You want the same tracker on phone and a campaign toolkit | You already run deals or hiring stages in Gmail |
What SentCue is (and is not)
SentCue Email Tracking is a Chrome extension for Gmail on the web. After you send with tracking on, Sent shows a circle: waiting, then activity when the tracking image is requested after Gmail’s Undo window. Optional reminders live on this install. Subject lines and recipient addresses stay in the browser; they are not uploaded for a cloud inbox view.
It will not become Mailtrack or Streak. No sequences, no shared team dashboard, no “opened” certificate, no restore of history on a second machine in this version. If you need those, pick the suite built for them.
Mailtrack in one paragraph
Mailtrack is the default name in this category: open tracking in Gmail plus suite features (campaigns, merge, link activity) and mobile apps on their Free plan listing — with a promotional signature on Free. That is a fair product if you accept account + Gmail access and cloud history. Full breakdown: SentCue vs Mailtrack. Company / brand searches (“Mailsuite”, “Mailsuite chrome extension”, “is Mailsuite safe”): Mailsuite vs SentCue. Calmer landing if you already decided against the suite: Mailtrack Chrome extension alternative.
Streak in one paragraph
Streak is a CRM that lives in Gmail. Email tracking comes with pipelines, stages, and team-oriented mail tools. Choose it when the inbox is already your deal board — not when you only want a circle next to one Sent row.
Local-first vs cloud
Cloud trackers win multi-device and reinstall continuity. Local-first wins when you refuse a vendor mailbox connection and accept that wiping the Chrome profile clears history. Longer note: local-first vs cloud trackers. For the no-login angle alone: Gmail tracker without an account.
